Join in nine days of prayer, pilgrimage and penance.
Check out this VERY important novena from the US Conference of Catholic Bishops calling us to pray and do penance in remembrance of the 40th anniversary of Roe v Wade.



Read more here. Let's do this, folks. We must put our faith into practice and through the grace of God, make a difference in this dark world.

Also, check out the Bishop's call to prayer here. It highlights what we really need to pray for and also calls us to go back to fasting and abstinence on all Fridays. People of goodwill! Let's unite in the grace, peace and willingness to love and serve God and His people.

I was excited at the prospect of the Church promoting prayer as a way to stop abortion! I went to the Bishop's page for more info..

And it was nothing but politics and attempts to influence government. They are dangerously close to changing the Church into a Political Action Committee.

I liked the Church that led by prayer and example better.

Fr. Santan Pinto, SOLT 1948-2011

It is with a heavy and incredulous heart that I post the news that our beloved Father, Fr. Santan Pinto, died suddenly in a car accident after just arriving for a home visit in India. Apparently, Fr. Pinto was the passenger in a car that was struck and he died instantly. A Bishop in India, the Bishop of Belgaum, has contacted our community and confirmed this sorrowful news. Fr. Pinto's funeral will be tomorrow in India. It's interesting, you know, after just posting Father's Christmas message yesterday and then posting the clip by Fr. Barron about the true nature of Advent, we never know when God will take us home. The media and secular society loves to mock celibacy and the priesthood but it's easy to see that Fr. Pinto has more spiritual children than those people ever will. God will not be mocked.
