IPF and Fr. Mark Toups

Just wanted to give a shout out to the awesomely holy and humorous gift to the Church that is Fr. Mark Toups. Check out this incredible video from the Institute for Priestly Formation (IPF) with whom Fr. Mark is affiliated. Love, love, love it! The world in desperate need of solid, holy and authentic men to embrace the call of God and become priests.

But what are we to do with the real and growing concern about Homosexuality within our Beautiful Priesthood.

This issue is so high up in the ranks that no one will address this.

Dear Holy Mother Please Help your sons to deal in God's Truth.

Anonymous, you raise a valid and sensitive point. And I think this area is something that IPF is working to address because at the heart of the issue, homosexuality is about a deep wounding of the heart. And from our wounds, as we all know, comes disorder.

It's not until we are able to speak about these truths honestly and be willing to undergo the healing process that hope and growth will return.

It seems to me that more and more authentic groups of people, Fr. Mark included, are indeed willing to go into the depths of the wounded human heart.

What a great need we have to form priests in the correct way. I personally know and love Father Mark Toups who has touched several new priests of today. Our church has one now and we love him very much. So in love with God and the Blessed Mother. God heal our priest in any way they may need today especially if they are hurting from their past. Form them in your image!! Call them by name and we will love them on their way to priesthood. Amen

Fr. Santan Pinto, SOLT 1948-2011

It is with a heavy and incredulous heart that I post the news that our beloved Father, Fr. Santan Pinto, died suddenly in a car accident after just arriving for a home visit in India. Apparently, Fr. Pinto was the passenger in a car that was struck and he died instantly. A Bishop in India, the Bishop of Belgaum, has contacted our community and confirmed this sorrowful news. Fr. Pinto's funeral will be tomorrow in India. It's interesting, you know, after just posting Father's Christmas message yesterday and then posting the clip by Fr. Barron about the true nature of Advent, we never know when God will take us home. The media and secular society loves to mock celibacy and the priesthood but it's easy to see that Fr. Pinto has more spiritual children than those people ever will. God will not be mocked.
